Where the flange has to carry bolt load without distortion, a forged flange is the right choice. These flanges are forged rather than cut from plate, so the grain structure stays continuous through the hub and the bolt circle stays flat under torque. Hot dip galvanising then gives a zinc layer that survives outdoor pipe racks, cooling towers and wash-down areas far longer than paint.

The single sphere body sits between the two forged flanges and provides the flexibility that a pump or valve connection needs. It absorbs the small misalignment left after fabrication, takes thermal growth out of the header and isolates the casing from pipe-borne vibration. Because the joint is short in face to face length, it fits into existing spools without reworking the pipework.

The joint is commonly fitted on pump suction and discharge nozzles, around butterfly and gate valves, at cooling tower headers and on packaged plant skids where pipe alignment is never perfect. Galvanised forged flanges make it a natural fit for outdoor installations, roof plant and coastal sites. It is also used to break vibration between chillers and the building loop, protecting both machine mounts and pipe hangers.

Flange faces are protected with soft interleaving before the joint is film wrapped, cartoned and crated in a wooden case. Galvanised surfaces are kept dry during packing to avoid white rust in transit. Each shipment is accompanied by a dimensional report and pressure test record, and flange drilling can be supplied to a customer drawing when the counter flange is non-standard.
