Food Grade EPDM Rubber Expansion Joint DN50-DN300 Flange For Safe Drinking Water System

Potable water circuits demand an elastomer that gives nothing back to the water. This joint uses a food grade EPDM compound that contains no reclaimed rubber and no aromatic plasticisers, so taste and odour stay unaffected and the water passing through remains within drinking water limits. The compound is suitable for cold potable supply and for hot water up to 150 C in sanitary circuits.

The body is moulded in one piece with a smooth internal wall, which avoids the crevices where biofilm can establish. Flanges are machined flat and parallel so the gasket seals evenly against the mating flange, and the joint is thoroughly cleaned before packing. Because the assembly flexes, it also protects plate heat exchangers, sanitary pumps and filling heads from pipe strain and water hammer.

Typical users are bottled water plants, breweries, dairies, beverage blending lines and building potable water risers. The joint is frequently installed at pump suction and discharge, at plate heat exchanger nozzles and at filling machine inlets where vibration and thermal growth would otherwise crack a rigid connection. For dairy and brewery CIP circuits the 150 C rating allows the same joint to remain in line during hot cleaning cycles.

Joints are cleaned, capped at both ends and wrapped in food grade film before cartoning. Outer packing is a wooden case lined with clean paper to avoid dust ingress during sea freight. Each batch carries a compound data sheet confirming food contact suitability, and we can supply the dimensional report and pressure test record with the shipment on request.
